Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD) Display
BJD (Ball Jointed Doll) or ABJD (Asian Ball Jointed Doll) are dolls articulated with ball and socket joints and are strung with elastic. They are usually cast in vinyl or resin and come in many sizes and styles.
This style of doll was started in Japan by Volks in 1999 with their Super Dollfie line and soon many other companies started making their own. South Korea is now home to the most companies and brands, China also has many factories.
Do you own a BJD?
The SMASH! BJD Display welcomes all attendees to display their dolls. Our aim is to celebrate and showcase the creativity of SMASH!, so dolls of all kinds are welcome!
If you intend to bring 5 or more large dolls (1:3 scale), please get in touch via bjd@smash.org.au and let us know in advance so that we can accommodate them. We look forward to sharing our love of this unique hobby with you.
We reserve the right to choose to not display a doll at our discretion. Please keep in mind that SMASH! is a family friendly event
